New study tests stronger membranes for better jawbone building

NCT ID NCT07525128

First seen Apr 15, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study compares two types of collagen membranes used in bone grafting to widen a thin jawbone before placing dental implants. Ten healthy adults with narrow jawbones received a bone graft covered by either a standard cross-linked membrane or a stronger porcine peritoneum membrane. The goal is to see which membrane leads to better bone growth and stability for future implants.
