New study tests alternative to Patient's own bone for dental implant success
NCT ID NCT07104370
Summary
This study compares two methods for rebuilding jawbone that has shrunk after tooth loss, which is needed before placing dental implants. Researchers are testing whether using processed donor bone (freeze-dried allograft) works as well as using the patient's own bone taken from another site. They will measure the success of the bone graft surgery, the quality of the new bone, and how well the dental implants perform afterward.
