NCT ID NCT07204015
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study will measure fat, muscle, and bone mass in 115 children aged 5-18 with beta thalassemia major who receive regular blood transfusions. Researchers will use a simple, non-invasive tool (bioelectrical impedance) to see how transfusion frequency, iron levels, nutrition, and hormone problems relate to body composition. The goal is to better understand the physical effects of the disease and its treatment.
