New radiation therapy aims to shrink deadly brain tumors

NCT ID NCT07003139

First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests a treatment called boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) for people with aggressive brain tumors (grade 3 or 4). It uses a special boron compound that collects in tumor cells, then a low-dose neutron beam activates it to destroy those cells while sparing healthy tissue. The goal is to see if it is safe and can shrink tumors or slow their growth. About 10 adults aged 18 and older will take part.
