Special lenses may curb worsening eyesight in kids
NCT ID NCT06647160
First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests whether a new type of eyeglass lens (Blue Star MAX-5) can slow the progression of nearsightedness (myopia) in children aged 8 to 11. About 200 Chinese children with mild to moderate myopia will wear either the new lenses or standard single-vision lenses for two years. Researchers will measure changes in their eye prescription and eye length every six months to see if the new lenses are safer and more effective at controlling myopia.
