Blue dye could make pediatric surgery safer: new study

NCT ID NCT06448143

First seen Nov 03, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests a blue dye called Bludigo® to help surgeons see if a child's ureters (tubes from kidneys to bladder) are open during surgery. About 18 children under 17 having urological or gynecological surgery will get a weight-based dose of the dye. The main goal is to see how well the dye makes the urine stream visible, helping surgeons confirm the ureters are working properly.
