New pill could tame stubborn hives when antihistamines fail

Summary
This study tests an experimental drug called BLU-808 for people with chronic hives (either triggered by heat/cold/pressure or happening without a clear cause) that don't get better with standard allergy pills. The drug works by blocking a protein called KIT, which may calm the immune cells causing the hives. About 105 adults will take part to see if the drug is safe and helps reduce hive symptoms.
