Blood test aims to cut down unnecessary brain scans after head injury
NCT ID NCT07311486
Summary
This study is testing a new blood test to help emergency room doctors decide which patients with a mild head injury need a CT scan. The test measures two brain proteins in the blood within 12 hours of the injury. Researchers will see if using this test can safely reduce the number of CT scans performed and shorten the time patients spend in the emergency department.
