Could more frequent blood pressure checks make surgery safer?

NCT ID NCT05993481

Summary

This study aims to find out if checking a patient's blood pressure every 2.5 minutes during surgery, instead of the standard 5 minutes, helps doctors detect and respond to dangerous drops in blood pressure faster. It will involve 640 adults having non-heart surgery. The researchers also want to see if this more frequent monitoring can help prevent a serious kidney complication that can occur after surgery.
