Arm vs. wrist: blood pressure mismatch in ICU patients on heart drugs
NCT ID NCT07061457
First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at 300 critically ill ICU patients who were receiving medications to support their blood pressure. The goal was to see if blood pressure readings taken at the upper arm (brachial) differ from those at the wrist (radial), and whether larger differences are linked to higher medication doses or worse blood flow to the skin. The findings could help doctors choose the best way to monitor blood pressure in very sick patients.
