Massive study to see if smarter blood use improves birth safety

NCT ID NCT07544017

First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated Jun 05, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study will look back at about 44,000 births at Corniche Hospital from 2018 to 2025 to see if a hospital-wide program to manage patients' own blood better reduces the need for blood transfusions and improves mother's health. The program focuses on treating anemia, reducing blood loss, and avoiding unnecessary transfusions. The goal is to learn if this approach leads to safer outcomes for mothers.
