First seen Mar 27, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tests whether a training method that limits blood flow to the leg muscles can improve strength and recovery after Achilles tendon repair. About 75 adults who had surgery for a torn Achilles tendon will be randomly assigned to receive this special training, a fake version, or standard physical therapy. Researchers will measure muscle strength, size, and patient-reported function over 12 months to see if the blood flow restriction approach offers extra benefits.
