Study on blood flow restriction for leg fracture recovery withdrawn before starting
NCT ID NCT06589115
First seen Nov 03, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 34 times
Summary
This study aimed to see if adding blood flow restriction (BFR) therapy to standard physical therapy helps people recover better after surgery for a broken shinbone (tibial plateau fracture). BFR uses a cuff to lightly restrict blood flow during exercise, which may reduce muscle loss and improve strength. The study planned to follow participants for one year, but it was withdrawn before enrolling anyone, so no results are available.
