Cuff trick may speed ankle surgery recovery

NCT ID NCT07451210

First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using a special blood pressure cuff (blood flow restriction therapy) during physical therapy helps people recover better after ankle ligament reconstruction surgery. About 105 adults aged 18-65 who had this surgery will be split into two groups: one gets standard physical therapy, the other adds the cuff. Researchers will measure muscle loss, ankle function, pain, and heart effects after at least 6 weeks of therapy.
