New study explores gentle exercise with blood flow cuffs for lung disease patients

NCT ID NCT07315425

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding blood flow restriction (using cuffs on the legs) to low-intensity aerobic exercise can improve muscle oxygen and heart responses in people with interstitial lung disease. Thirty adults will try both regular low-intensity exercise and the same exercise with blood flow restriction, with a week break in between. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and effective for building muscle without overstressing the heart and lungs.
