Two-Drug combo tested to protect new moms from dangerous bleeding

This study tested whether adding a second drug (tranexamic acid) to standard treatment (recombinant von Willebrand factor) could better prevent severe bleeding after childbirth in women with von Willebrand disease. Twenty pregnant women with this bleeding disorder were randomly assigned to receive either the standard treatment alone or the standard treatment plus the additional drug. The main goal was to measure and compare blood loss during and after delivery between the two groups.
