New bladder cancer treatment may let patients keep their bladder

NCT ID NCT06809140

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether a combination of two drugs (enfortumab vedotin and pembrolizumab) can eliminate muscle-invasive bladder cancer so patients can avoid bladder removal. About 47 adults with stage T2-3 bladder cancer will receive the drugs for three cycles, then doctors check if the cancer is gone. If it is, patients continue treatment; if not, they undergo standard bladder removal surgery.
