New bladder cancer surgery aims to cut recurrence rates

NCT ID NCT05223491

Summary

This study compared two ways to surgically remove early-stage bladder tumors that haven't spread into the muscle. The goal was to see if removing the entire tumor in one piece (En Bloc resection) is better than the standard method of cutting it into pieces. Researchers wanted to know which method gives clearer information to the pathologist and might lower the chance of the cancer coming back.
