New hope for esophageal cancer: experimental drug takes on chemo in late-stage trial

Summary
This phase 3 study tests a new drug called BL-B01D1 against standard chemotherapy for people with advanced esophageal cancer that has returned or spread. It is for patients whose cancer did not respond to or stopped responding to initial treatment with immunotherapy and platinum-based chemo. The goal is to see if BL-B01D1 can slow cancer growth and improve survival. About 497 adults are taking part.
