New drug trial offers hope for tough lupus kidney disease

Summary
This study tests an experimental drug for lupus nephritis, a kidney disease caused by lupus. The main goal is to see if the drug is safe and tolerable over the long term. About 90 people with hard-to-treat lupus nephritis will take part. The drug is given for a short time, but patients may still need ongoing lupus medications.
