First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looks at how long-term use of a BiPAP machine affects the diaphragm—the main breathing muscle—in people with advanced COPD. Researchers will follow 30 patients for 12 months, using ultrasound and breathing tests to measure changes in diaphragm thickness, movement, and strength. The goal is to understand whether BiPAP therapy helps or harms diaphragm function over time.
