Wrist access stent shows promise for leg artery disease in small trial

NCT ID NCT05372952

First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tested a new stent (Dynetic-35) to treat blockages in the iliac arteries of the leg, but placed it through the wrist instead of the groin. Twenty-five people with peripheral artery disease took part, and researchers checked for safety issues like bleeding or stroke, and whether the stent could be delivered successfully. The goal was to see if this less invasive approach is feasible and safe over a 30-day follow-up.
