First seen Apr 12, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study is testing whether a special blood test (biomarker signature) can help doctors decide when to use antibiotics for patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). About 1,200 ICU patients who have started antibiotics will be randomly assigned to have their treatment guided by this test or by usual care. The goal is to see if the test leads to better patient outcomes and less unnecessary antibiotic use.
