Blood test guides new drug to prevent deadly transplant complication
NCT ID NCT07025538
First seen Nov 12, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This early-phase trial tests whether the drug ruxolitinib can prevent chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD) in 42 patients who are at high risk after a stem cell transplant for blood cancer. Doctors use a blood test to find patients with high levels of cGVHD biomarkers, then give them ruxolitinib to block the enzymes that cause the disease. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and feasible, and whether it can improve outcomes without severe side effects.
