Brain signals could Fine-Tune Parkinson's treatment

NCT ID NCT07369310

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests whether using brain imaging and electrical signals to program deep brain stimulation (DBS) works better than the standard method for people with Parkinson's disease. About 20 adults aged 30 to 70 who are getting DBS surgery will be randomly assigned to either the new data-guided approach or the usual clinical programming. The goal is to see if the new method reduces daily "OFF" time (when symptoms return) and improves quality of life.
