New biologic combo shows promise for lupus kidney patients

NCT ID NCT07340463

First seen Jan 16, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether newer biologic drugs (belimumab or telitacicept) can control active lupus kidney disease better than the standard treatment. About 50 adults with biopsy-confirmed lupus nephritis will receive either a biologic plus steroids, standard therapy (mycophenolate mofetil plus steroids), or a triple combination. The main goal is to see how many patients achieve complete kidney remission after 6 months.
