First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested a new lab method (xCELLigence) to see if it could help choose the best antibiotic for people with severe gum disease (periodontitis). 64 adults aged 40-70 with advanced gum disease took part. The goal was to see if this method could guide antibiotic selection better than usual care, but the study focused on developing and validating the lab test itself.
