New hope for rare leukemia: drug targets MEK gene in BRAF-Negative patients

Summary

This study tests a drug called binimetinib for people with hairy cell leukemia that does not have the common BRAF gene mutation. The drug targets a different gene, MEK, which is often altered in these patients. The goal is to see if it can shrink or control the cancer in 40 adults whose disease has returned or not responded to prior treatments.
