Could special sounds replace some anesthesia drugs?

NCT ID NCT07311642

Summary

This study investigates whether listening to special sound frequencies called binaural beats during breast reconstruction surgery can reduce the amount of anesthesia drugs patients need. Researchers will compare 88 patients wearing earphones playing these sounds to patients wearing silent earphones. The main goal is to see if this approach safely lowers drug requirements while keeping patients comfortably asleep during surgery.
