First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looks at adults with a hernia on both sides of the groin, where one side causes symptoms and the other does not. It compares fixing both hernias at once versus only fixing the painful side. The goal is to see which approach results in less long-term pain and fewer complications. About 2,200 participants will be tracked using Sweden's national hernia registry.
