New hope for GIST patients: drug combo targets resistant tumors

NCT ID NCT06208748

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tests a combination of two drugs, bezuclastinib and sunitinib, in 40 adults with advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) that continued to grow despite sunitinib treatment alone. The goal is to see if the combination can slow cancer progression and to identify genetic changes linked to drug resistance. Participants receive both drugs orally, and researchers track tumor response and survival.
