Summary
This study aimed to create a quick, point-of-care test to diagnose tuberculous meningitis (TBM) in children, a severe form of TB that affects the brain. Researchers analyzed blood and spinal fluid samples from 332 children to find the best combination of biomarkers. The goal was to develop a simple test that works in low-resource settings, where current tests are often unavailable, to speed up diagnosis and reduce deaths.
