Could a common heart drug shrink kidney tumors?
NCT ID NCT02104011
First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026
Summary
This small pilot study tested whether beta-blockers, a type of heart medication, could shrink or stabilize kidney tumors (angiomyolipomas) in people with tuberous sclerosis. Only 2 participants were enrolled, and the goal was to see if the tumors got smaller or stopped growing after 6 months to a year of treatment. The study was completed but too small to draw firm conclusions.
