Summary
This early-stage trial tests a device called Beta-Air, which contains human insulin-producing cells, implanted under the skin in people with long-standing type 1 diabetes. The main goal is to see if the implant is safe and can help control blood sugar without causing dangerous low blood sugar episodes. Four participants are being studied to check for side effects and signs of improved glucose control.
