New online tool aims to ease tough prostate cancer decisions
NCT ID NCT07135271
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 30, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether a new online tool, called BeSpoke, helps men with newly diagnosed localized prostate cancer make better treatment decisions. The tool gives personalized information about different treatments and their likely outcomes. Researchers will compare men who use the tool plus standard counseling to those who get standard counseling alone, measuring how conflicted they feel about their choice.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Bespoke Decision Support tool (online patient decision aid)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this tool could help men with prostate cancer feel more confident and less conflicted when choosing their treatment.
- What could go wrong
- This is a relatively small, early-stage trial focused on decision-making, not on curing cancer. The tool may not improve outcomes for everyone.
