Beetroot juice boosts exercise benefits for kidney patients?
NCT ID NCT06286748
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether drinking beetroot juice before exercise can reduce inflammation and improve physical function in people with chronic kidney disease. Researchers will give 25 patients either beetroot juice or a placebo, then have them exercise. The goal is to see if this simple, natural approach can help manage complications of kidney disease.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- beetroot juice
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a simple, non-drug way to help kidney disease patients feel better and move more easily.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very small, early-stage trial with only 25 people, so results may not apply widely. Beetroot juice is generally safe but may not provide meaningful benefits.
