Ultrasound before C-Section could prevent rare but deadly complication

NCT ID NCT07335172

First seen Jan 14, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study will use bedside ultrasound to measure stomach volume in 80 pregnant women before planned cesarean sections. The goal is to understand how different fasting times and liquid types affect stomach contents, which can help prevent aspiration (stomach contents entering the lungs) during surgery. The findings may lead to safer anesthesia practices for mothers.
