NCT ID NCT02843425
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looks at whether eating canned, pre-cooked beans can improve the balance of healthy bacteria in the gut and reduce the effects of obesity on colorectal cancer risk. About 70 adults who are overweight or have a history of colorectal cancer or precancerous polyps will eat beans daily for several weeks. Researchers will measure changes in gut bacteria and blood markers to see if this simple food change could help prevent cancer.
