First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) for 24 weeks can help people with liver cirrhosis who have low muscle mass regain muscle and improve strength. About 86 adults aged 18-85 will receive either BCAA supplements or a placebo, along with diet and exercise advice. The goal is to see if BCAAs can reverse muscle loss and improve overall health in these patients.
