Summary
This study tested whether a battery-powered toothbrush, used with toothpaste, can reduce plaque and gum inflammation (gingivitis) in adults. 130 healthy adults with mild to moderate gum disease and plaque used the toothbrush for 12 weeks. Dentists measured plaque and gum health at the start and end of the study to see if the toothbrush helped.
