Summary

This early-stage trial tested a new drug called BAT7104 in 86 people with advanced cancers that had stopped responding to standard treatments. The drug is a bispecific antibody designed to block two proteins (PD-L1 and CD47) that help tumors hide from the immune system. The main goals were to check safety and find the right dose, while also looking for any signs that the tumors might shrink.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
BAT7104 injection (a bispecific antibody targeting PD-L1 and CD47)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward a new treatment option for people with advanced cancers that have not responded to standard therapies.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase 1 trial focused on safety, not proof of effectiveness. The drug may cause side effects or fail to shrink tumors. Results may not apply to all cancer types.

AEs caused by previous anti-tumor therapy are still higher than grade 1 (based on CTCAE v5.0) before the first administration of the study drug (except for AEs such as hair loss and fatigue that cannot be restored to ≤ grade 1 and will remain stable for a long time according to the judgment of the researcher based on clinical actual conditions, except for grade 2 peripheral neurotoxicity, and hypothyroidism stabilized by hormone replacement therapy); 7.
