New surgical pathway aims to speed healing for painful tailbone condition

NCT ID NCT06683274

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a standardized cleft lift operation can help people with complex or recurring pilonidal sinus disease heal faster and get back to normal activities sooner. About 58 adults will be followed after surgery to see how quickly their wounds close and when they can resume daily tasks like washing, sitting, and working. The goal is to create a best-practice care plan that improves recovery compared to older surgical methods.
