Fat storage secrets: could bariatric surgery cure diabetes?
NCT ID NCT05934409
First seen Feb 12, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looks at why type 2 diabetes often goes away quickly after bariatric surgery. Researchers will track how the body stores and uses fat from food in 40 people having surgery—half with diabetes and half without. The goal is to understand the link between fat tissue changes and diabetes remission, not to test a new treatment.
