First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tests whether specialized bariatric supplements are better than standard multivitamins at preventing vitamin and mineral deficiencies after weight-loss surgery. About 624 adults undergoing sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, or one-anastomosis gastric bypass will take either the specialized supplement or a standard multivitamin for 12 months. Researchers will check blood levels of key nutrients like iron, vitamin B12, and vitamin D, and also track how well patients tolerate and stick with the supplements.
