NCT ID NCT06648408
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether six weeks of ballet training can improve walking and quality of life in children aged 8 to 12 with idiopathic coxa antetorta, a condition where the thigh bone twists inward. Five children participated in beginner ballet classes twice a week. Researchers measured knee movement during walking and used parent questionnaires to assess daily function.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- ballet training
- What this could lead to
- If it works, ballet training could offer a fun, non-surgical way to improve walking and daily function in children with this hip condition.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very small, early study with only 5 children, so results may not apply to others. The training is short (6 weeks) and may not produce lasting changes.
