Laser zaps bad breath in new dental study

NCT ID NCT07433816

Summary

This study compared two methods for reducing bad breath (halitosis). 48 adults with confirmed bad breath were randomly assigned to either use a standard tongue scraper and antiseptic mouthwash, or a tongue scraper plus a special antibacterial laser treatment on the tongue. All participants also had their teeth professionally cleaned. Researchers measured breath odor and tongue bacteria over 3 months to see which method worked better.
