First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looked at 101 adults with gum disease and bad breath to see if dental cleaning could also improve their sense of smell. Participants had their breath and smell ability tested before and one week after a standard deep-cleaning procedure. The goal was to understand if reducing mouth inflammation helps the nose work better.
