NCT ID NCT07461337
First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests whether specially designed viruses called bacteriophages can eliminate a persistent bacterial infection in a hip replacement. Only one person will take part, someone who has tried all standard treatments without success. The treatment involves injecting the phages directly into the joint and giving them through a vein for two weeks. The goal is to clear the infection and avoid further surgery or long-term antibiotics.
