Acupuncture vs. pills: Head-to-Head test for slipped disc pain

NCT ID NCT06024460

Summary

This study aims to see which approach works better for managing ongoing pain from a slipped disc in the lower back: non-drug treatments or medication. It will involve 200 adults with moderate to severe pain that has lasted over a month. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either a course of hands-on treatments (like acupuncture and spinal therapy) or proactive drug-based treatments (like prescriptions and injections) over 8 weeks, with their progress followed for 3 years.
