C-section moms may have weaker cores and more back pain, study finds

NCT ID NCT05493891

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looked at 36 women who had either a cesarean or vaginal delivery to see if there is a link between low back pain and core muscle strength. Researchers measured pain levels and the strength of key core muscles between 6 and 12 weeks after birth. The goal was to understand differences between delivery types, not to test a treatment.
